Computers

The "brain" of LauberLand Studios is a Dell Dimension 8300 I bought in 2004.  It features a 3 gig processor, 4 gigs of ram, 800Mhz front-side buss, 120 gig hard drive, and a 500 gig external hard drive.  It also has 2 DVD/CD drives, and one is a DVD/CD burner.  The monitor is an 18" flat screen LCD with a 15" (dual monitor) setup in the drum room.

Software

Sonar  7 Producer by Cakewalk is the absolute latest in professional studio software.  It includes midi sequencing, surround mixing and full video capability.  It also has VST and DXI plug-ins including the Sonitus and Lexicon effects.
I have added a large number of additional plug-ins such as Antares Auto-tune, NI B4 Pack, Edirol Orchestral, PlugSound, and too much more to mention here!

Mixers

The "interface" of the studio is a Behringer MX3282 32-channel mixer with phantom power.  This is not an extremely expensive mixer, but one that had all of the features in the right size chassis for what I needed to do.  It has 24 XLR inputs that feed independently into the Dell for recording 24 separate tracks at one time.

I also have this Mackie 1402VLZ Pro mixer that boasts some of the industry's best preamps, and I use this for all types of applications in the studio.  This is one of the most popular brands of mixers in use today!

Monitors

For mix down I use a pair of Behringer "Truth" 2031A powered monitors.  These monitors ROCK!!!  Hey, they're no Genelecs, but they sure do get the job done!

To mix low-end frequencies I use the Behringer "Truth" B2092A powered subwoofer.  This is perfectly matched to the Truth monitors and features (2) 8" drivers and a 360watt amp.

Sound Cards

To get the signals into the computer I use three M-Audio Delta 1010LT sound cards.  Each card is capable of 10 inputs, and offers midi ports and clock inputs as well.  The clocks on the cards are linked with digital coax which keeps them in sinc for longer recordings.

Guitars

This beautiful 2002 Fender Stratocaster was the one guitar I chose after playing nearly every guitar on the wall at Guitar Center.   It plays as well as it looks!

This is a vintage 1989 Kramer Focus 3000 made overseas.  It features a Floyd Rose factory tremolo with lock-nut system and is all original down to the peculiar "peach" finish.  This guitar is the fastest guitar I own.

This beautiful jumbo-body Washburn Cumberland acoustic/electric guitar features a cedar top, quilted maple back and sides, and a rare mother of pearl "tree of life" inlay on the neck.

Guitar Effects

The Line 6 Guitar Pod 2.0 offers the latest in guitar tones and amplifier modeling.  You can choose one of many presets or build your own!  I also have the Line 6 Floorboard (below) to make life even easier.

Basses

This awesome 80's vintage 5-string Samick Artist Series bass plays better than any bass I've ever owned, including the Fender Jazz!

Bass Effects

The Line 6 Bass Pod Pro is similar to the Guitar Pod, except it's for bass, and rack-mounted.  They both work with the Line 6 Floorboard shown below!

Bass Amps

The Eden Nemesis Combo is one of the leading names in bass amplification.  This powerful combo has great punch and is packed with awesome features.

Floorboards

The Line 6 Floorboard puts the controls of the Guitar and Bass Pods at your feet.  Use it to quickly tune up, choose tones and amps, and enjoy a seamless wah or volume pedal!

Midi Controllers

The M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 is a USB/Midi controller with 88 hammer-action weighted keys and tons of assignable controls.  What a nice piano feel wrapped into an awesome controller!

The M-Audio Axiom 25 is a USB/Midi controller with 25 hammer-action weighted keys and tons of assignable controls.  This unit also features aftertouch, assignable drum pads and ACT Technology.  It also has the same large backlit display as the Keystation Pro 88 above.

Other Keyboards

The Casio CTK-651 is a midi-capable keyboard with 61 mid-sized keys.  It has 100 voices, 100 rhythms and 6 full drum kits with percussive sounds.

Drum Kits

It might look small, but the HD-1 V-drums sound and perform impressively large. With Roland's legendary V-Drum know-how at the core, this little drum kit is a dream.  I use it in the studio through MIDI technology to trigger hundreds of drum, percussion and other sounds using popular plugins such as Native Instruments Battery and PlugSound, etc...

This is a custom 8pc. set of Tama Starclassic Performers made of 9-ply birch.  It features the Sabian Paragon Neil Peart Signature Series Cymbal Pack, double bass pedals, and a locking hi-hat.

Also available is a 5pc set of vintage Ludwigs in blue vistalite.  This kit features a 22" x 14" kick drum and provides a classic sound when needed.  (Picture shown is of a newer, similar kit, but you get the idea)

Microphones

The MXL990 by Marshall is a true, phantom powered, condenser mic with a 6 micron, 20mm gold-sputtered diaphragm.  It has a high quality FET preamp and a balanced output.  There are much more expensive mics on the market that don't even come close to the sound I get from this mic!  I have 2 of these at LauberLand!

The Shure SM57 is a unidirectional dynamic mic.  It can be used for musical instrument pick up or vocals.  I have 3 of these I use in the studio for various reasons.  It has been the industry standard for snare micing for years, and has served on the US President's podium for more than 30 years!  The frequency response is 40 to 15,000 Hz.

The Shure SM58 unidirectional (cardioid) dynamic vocal microphone is designed for professional vocal use in live performance, sound reinforcement, and studio recording. It has a tailored vocal response for a sound which is a world standard for singing or speech. A highly effective, built-in spherical filter minimizes wind and breath "pop" noise. A cardioid pickup pattern isolates the main sound source while minimizing unwanted background noise.

The Sennheiser e825s is a great all-around mic that can be used for vocals and instrument micing.  It has a frequency response similar to a Shure SM57, but richer and smoother.  The weight is awesome, and is my favorite singing mic for stage use as well!  I have 2 of these awesome mics on hand.

The Sennheiser e604's frequency response and cardioid pick-up pattern is optimized for drum and other percussion instrument miking, while also producing exceptional results on all forms of brass and woodwind.  I use these exceptional mics mostly on the toms of the drums.

Duplication and Printing

The BravoPro by Primera allows be to burn and print up to 100 CDs or DVDs at a time.  No paper labels here!  This is the real deal!

I have more gear, but I need more time to get it up on the website!
